The remake is set to bring a new generation of fans to the survival horror classic, as well as injecting longtime fanatics with an infusion of nostalgia, allowing them to relive the dread and danger of Isaac Clarke’s trials through the USG Ishimura once more on the latest gaming systems. On January 27, 2023, one of the most beloved titles of the survival horror genre will make its return in the form of the Dead Space Remake, launching for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

After a successful debut, followed by the critically acclaimed Dead Space 2, a comic book limited series, the lesser-received Dead Space 3, the closure of Visceral Games, and even a rumored potential John Carpenter film adaptation recently, the Dead Space franchise has had a life cycle as turbulent as a ride on the USG Ishimura during a necromorph outbreak. That’s about it.It has been over fourteen years since EA Redwood Shores, later known as Visceral Games, forever changed the landscape of survival horror by introducing a new IP, featuring a blend of science fiction storytelling, grotesquely terrifying monsters, and pulse pounding third-person shooting to create a little game (you might have heard of) called Dead Space. If you pre-ordered the game on Steam, you’ll get a copy of Dead Space 2 for free, when the remake of the first game launches on January 27th. In the case of the Infested suit, you’re going to be playing almost looking like a necromorph for most of the game. No, what they do is make you look nice, or different. They don’t give you a larger inventory as Isaac, instead you’ll still have to purchase that first upgrade to get more suit space for 10,000 credits. This is the part where, if we were talking to you in person, we’d take a sharp intake of breath. To equip them, access the store and hit R1 twice to go to your storage, whereby all five suits will be there to allow you to pick them.
